You may have a sense that something in your life or relationships isn’t working, even if it’s difficult to say exactly what. Together, we will think more deeply about your experience, looking beyond immediate difficulties to the patterns and histories that shape how you feel and relate. Over time, this can lead to a different understanding of yourself and the possibility of living and relating in ways that feel more real and less constrained.

"The idea of psychodynamic psychotherapy isn’t just to alleviate a checklist of symptoms. The goal is to transform our lives. It’s not just that our symptoms are different after treatment, it’s that we are different after treatment.”
~ Prof Jonathan Shedler, PhD.
Psychoanalyst

Psychotherapy
Long term/open ended, online or in person
This kind of therapy addresses underlying issues and causes, often from your past, which may be concerning you, or affecting your relationships with others. In your sessions you will be encouraged to talk freely and to look deeper into your problems and worries. It differs from many other talking therapies in that it aims to help people make deep seated change in personality and emotional development, alongside relieving troubling symptoms. This is a long-term commitment, meeting once or twice weekly, sessions are 50 minutes and therapy can last for 2 years or longer.
